Closing Night! Going Down in La-La Land
Casper Andreas (USA, 2011, 105 Min.)
Location: The Portage Theater
9:30 PM
Going Down in La-La Land is a sexy, uncensored, and wildly funny satire of what an aspiring actor can – and will – do to make it in Hollywood. Adam arrives from New York with the face, buff body, and attitude necessary to make his dreams of stardom come true. His zany and zealous friend Candy, who will do anything to pay her rent and make it big except get a job, even puts Adam up virtually rent free. But still Adam gets off to a rocky start, struggling with money, an insufferable job answering phones, and a fistful of parking tickets. A new gig in “film production” looks promising, but Adam soon finds himself dealing with down-and-out directors, washed-up starlets, closeted celebrities, and drug addicts as he starts to lose himself in the seamy underworld of gay porn and prostitution. When Adam meets a high profile sitcom star, things start to look up, but can Adam quit going down to get ahead?
