Reeling is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to sit on important committees to ensure its continued success. Reeling is much more than the eleven days of the film festival, we have a number of events and screenings going on throughout the year that make the festival itself all that much more of a fantastic event.

We are looking for a few good people that would like to sit on the following important committees:

Special Events/Fundraising Committee

This committee will help us come up with new ideas for Special and Fundraising Events. This will entail planning summer screenings and any other interesting fundraising or community events this committee can come up with to raise awareness of the festival The number of people involved in this committee will be limited.

Silent Auction / Raffle Committee

This committee will take over and run our closing night live and silent auction. This would include making and implementing all needed plans to make the silent auction successful. We would also like to have a raffle running this summer during the street fairs and other spring and summer events. This committee would decide the best way to handle and execute such an event. The number of people involved in this committee will be limited.

Membership / Donor Committee

This 10-member committee will brainstorm (and help to implement) a plan for increasing Reeling membership though marketing, parties, and raising awareness of all the benefits that membership has to offer. It is with increased membership that Reeling will be able to increase programs and projects.

New Monthly Gay Screening Committee

This committee will help to create a budget and a plan for a monthly gay film program. This will include choosing and marketing all movies that will be shown to ensure that the program is an aritsitc and financial success for Reeling. It will be a pilot program.

Outreach Committee

This committee will work to raise awareness of Reeling through community outreach including forging relationships with other LGBT organizations, and planning and executing Reeling’s presence at summer street festivals and in the Gay Pride Parade. In addition, the committee will work on how to reach the younger audience through youth group and college outreach.

Programming Committee

This committe will set the policies and procedures on how films will be processed and programmed for the festival. This will include creating a plan for screening all of the films to choose what will be programmed in the festival. In addition, the committe will concentrate on setting the standard by which films should be judged and programmed to comply with Reeling’s standards.
