Tucked into the mountains of Colorado lies tiny Trinidad, an Old West frontier outpost with a quiet distinction that has brought it proud notoriety to some and shameful infamy to others—it is known as the “sex change operation capital of the world.” With its intriguing disparate elements, the town functions as a main character of the film. But it is those who come to Trinidad to change their bodies and their lives that truly make this a fascinating story, as the film follows surgeon Dr. Marci Bowers, who has undergone the surgery herself, in her fight to build a post-op clinic for her patients.
