Reeling 2009: The 28th Chicago Lesbian & Gay International Film Festival is now accepting film and video entries
for this year’s festival. Reeling is the second oldest film festival of its kind in the world and prides itself on showcasing the best LGBTQI films and videos from across the globe. Reeling will screen approximately 100 independent films and videos over 10 days, from November 5-14, 2009. We invite you to enter this year's festival and ask you to please take a moment and click on our "Call For Entries" page for more information.

FRIDAY, MARCH 27

The year is 1967, and Angela Arden (Charles Busch) is a washed-up pop singer who's married to Sol (Philip Baker Hall) but is involved with an unemployed actor named Tony (Jason Priestley). When Sol turns up dead, all fingers point to Angela. Leading the charge is Angela's daughter Edith (Natasha Lyonne), who's eager to get even by killing her mother. Edith's brother (Stark Sands), however, is not so sure that mom is to blame.

Set on a colorful Greek island, the plot serves as a background for a wealth of ABBA songs. A young woman about to be married discovers that any one of three men could be her father. She invites all three to the wedding without telling her mother, Donna, who was once the lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos. In the meantime, Donna has invited her back-up singers, Rosie and Tanya. Starring Amanda Seyfried, Stellan Skarsgard, Meryl Streep, and Colin Firth.

Set in the 1870's, our upper class leading lady heads to the slammer in hopes of escaping her widowly troubles while attempting to be a good influence to the female prisoners. There she meets Selina, a talented medium, who catches her attention and reads her mind. Based on the critically acclaimed novel by Sarah Waters and adapted by Andrew Davies (BRIDESHEAD REVISITED), this smashing potboiler stars Anna Madeley, Zoe Tapper, and Amanda Plummer.
